Covid Vaccinations are ongoing. This is going to be a lengthy process and for that we appreciate your patience . As we are advised of further deliveries of the vaccine, we will then contact patients either by phone or text as per the criteria set by the NHS. Please note, currently the Covid vaccine is not being delivered in a GP setting.

Proof of Vaccination:
Your General Practice is unable to offer you a certification of Covid vaccination, a vaccination passport or a letter to prove you have been vaccinated against covid-19.
These proof of vaccination documents have not yet been developed and as such cannot be provided by your GP. As soon as we have further information we will share it with you.
The Practice is open between the hours of 08:00 - 18:30, Monday to Friday
Patients can continue to access the practice via telephone, video calls, e-consults, or face to face, depending what is most appropriate.
Due to the requirement to comply with social distancing restrictions the practice must limit those coming into the waiting room to maintain your safety. Access to the waiting room is via the intercom on each door. Entry will be given as a priority to those with face to face appointments. Entry for others will depend on the numbers currently in the waiting room.
If you are attending the surgery, please remember to wear a face covering. Measures are in place to keep you safe from infection during your visit to the surgery, including social distancing. If you have a disability or condition which means you cannot wear a face covering or cannot communicate with someone who is wearing a face mask, or require other adjustments before your appointment, please let the surgery know ahead of your arrival.

When submitting an e-consult please remember each e-consult is for ONE problem. The forms are designed to collect information relevant to an individual problem to give the clinician the best possible information to help you.
Requests via e-Consult for non-urgent problems should only be submitted during the opening hours of Monday - Friday 08:00 - 18:30. The practice will respond within 2 working days. The response may include signposting to appropriate services, a text message, prescription, request for further information, a telephone appointment, video consultation or a face to face appointment.
e-Consults cannot be submitted over the weekend or bank holidays. For any issues during these times or urgent problems please ring 111
In line with services moving back to business and usual processes, the dedicated COVID Patient Advice Line has now transferred back to the CCG Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS).

If you or somebody accompanying you has Flu like symptoms, Cough, Fever or Shortness of Breath (even if mild) please stay at home and DO NOT ENTER THE BUILDING unless instructed to do so by a member of staff. You will no longer be able to make appointments at the Reception desk under any circumstances and all appointment requests must come via e-Consult
If you wish to make any appointment for a GP, ANP, Nurse etc. you must complete an e-Consult. The e-Consult system can be accessed via the practice website www.penkethhealthcentre.co.uk it is an easy to use system and you do not need to be registered to access it. A clinician will triage your request and let you know the most appropriate course of action whether that be advice or a face to face consultation. Please be vigilant for a telephone call, email or text reply. If you do not have internet access or do not have somebody who can complete an e-Consult on your behalf please telephone the surgery and one of our Patient Advisers will assist you.
We have temporarily suspended the online booking system as all appointment requests must be triaged due to ongoing concerns around COVID-19 (Coronavirus). This is to ensure that we are able to fully assess risk before appointments are booked. As you will be aware the practice uses e-Consult and patients are advised to seek advice via this service.
We will no longer be offering printed prescriptions to avoid patients coming in to the surgery unnecessarily. Patients must select a nominated pharmacy for the electronic prescription to be sent to. If you do not already have a nominated Pharmacy, please contact the Chemist of your choice and advise them you would like to nominate them, or phone the surgery and advise us which pharmacy you want your prescription sent to.
If you need to order a repeat prescription please order via the website, use the App on your smart phone, or post your request through the door/drop into the box.
The NHS and Public Health England (PHE) are well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases. The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are available to the public as normal.

NHS 111 has an online coronavirus service that can tell you if you need medical help and advise you what to do. Use this service if:
- You think you might have coronavirus;
- Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. Call 111 if you need to speak to someone. Like the common cold, coronavirus infection usually occurs through close contact with a person with novel coronavirus via cough and sneezes or hand contact. A person can also catch the virus by touching contaminated surfaces if they do not wash their hands. Testing of suspected coronavirus cases is carried out in line with strict guidelines. This means that suspected cases are kept in isolation, away from public areas of GP surgeries, pharmacies and hospitals and returned home also in isolation. Any equipment that comes into contact with suspected cases are thoroughly cleaned as appropriate. Specific guidance has also been shared with NHS staff to help safeguard them and others. Patients can be reassured that their safety is a top priority, and are encouraged to attend all appointments as usual. Everyone is being reminded to follow Public Health England advice to:
- Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze. Then bin the tissue, and wash your hands, or use a sanitiser gel.
- Wash your hands often for 20 seconds with soap and water, especially after being in public places. Use a sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
